M K . Panduranga Setty is a well-known educationist and industrialist of Karnataka and Past Director of Rotary International (1991-1993 ) is a member of Rotary Club Of Bangalore for the last 54 years with perfect attendance record, his services in the field of Industry and Education was recognized by Government of Karnataka and was awarded Karnataka Rajyotsava Award ( s state award ) and Avinashilingam University for women of Coimbatore and Mangalore University of Mangalore have conferred Doctor of Literature degrees (Honoris Causa). He is the president of Rahtreeya Sikshana Samiti Trust which runs 26 educational institutions in Karnataka since 1973 (The trust was founded in 1940). He was appointed by the Govt of Karnataka as the Chairman of Karnataka State Industrial Investment & Development Corporation Ltd. He has also served on various Committees of the State as well as Govt. of India. He has served Rotary International as a Member of the Strategic Planning Committee, Membership Development Committee, Districting Committee, Election Review Committee, Centennial History of Rotary Committee etc. During his Directorship 1991-93 he was elected as the Chairman of Executive Committee of the Board for the year 1992-93. As an Educationist he has served on the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore as a Board of Governor, Chairman of the Institute for Social and Economic Change, President of Bangalore of Management Association, President Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry and President of Indo American Chamber, Committee Member, Indo German Chamber of Commerce, Karnataka, President, Association of Food Scientists & Technologist (India). He is married to Vasantha and has two sons Shyam and Vikram and three granddaughters.
